Well I tried MTA's take on DayZ and I find it pretty damn awesome. Loot isn't so rare since so death is a bit more forgiving. There was some animal yesterday(fox or coyote?) that attacked me. When it bumped into me it said "Hey watch it man!" before it proceeded to bite the shit out of me. I almost fell on the floor from laughing. In fact, all the zombies seem to talk in this pot head voice.

DayZ on MTA, seems to be less buggy too. Melee combat is a bit more fun and doesn't feel like you're firing a bullet out of your weapon. Zombies are a bit laggy but they're still quite simple to kill. Guns aren't very rare but you will go through quite a bit of ammo.

Overall, DayZ on MTA seems to be more fun for me. It isn't some boring cycle of going to the airfield and getting shot by a bandit. Instead it's a game where you survive properly, and you get to laugh at the pot head zombies.

My playthrough ended with me getting a shotgun, deagle, uzi, pistol, and silenced pistol. I also got a coyote pack and map.

    8/10 would play again.

    DayZ itself is fun, too.

So far I've had nothing but issues with it.

On a related note, I'm installing APB Reloaded as we speak.
I'll post what I think of it after I've accomplished a couple hours on it.
For now, I'm sticking to my usual games and chit-chat.

    You should be enforcer.

    Enforcers are best forcers.

Normal DayZ is a boring grindfest where all you do is crawl to an airfield for guns only to be shot immediately by some guy camping. Not really what I'd call fun.

Well, that's like, your opinion, man.

But to be honest, I don't really care about public DayZ. I pretty much only play on the FaceWAN server.

nah, it's just that the auto updater is disabled and espeon has to install SMAC updates manually

SMAC was last updated on faccewan around the end of 2011, a lot of stuff has been added since then (the smac developers are still active and adding more and more detections)

    Ah, I see.
I'm just curious as I redid the bunny hop detection script for him (which I believe is in the same script as the other detections) to add bans for people it detected, rather than just kick them.

Not sure if he gets the new scripts then just takes my snippet of code and applies it to the new one or something similar

The last time I had updated SMAC was around November of 2012, I guess there were a lot of changes in the past few months. Also the trigger detection plugin Furchee modified is still on the server.

Weird, smac_version said 7.2.7, which is from december 2011 according to their revision history thing (bitbucket)

Anyways, the new triggerbot detection has a ban cvar, so we can just pull in the official version for that, too! :) (Set smac_autotrigger_ban to 1)

Can't wait for even more bans to roll in, lol

If the "new" triggerbot has a ban cvar like you say, then there's no reason to not use it.
I'm still going to take it and compare it to my old one though to see what the changes were :3
As for more bans rolling in, I don't quite think it's been any more than it used to.
There's just a lack of admins online nowadays so it looks like the Console issues bans like candy

Decided to do a wipe on the TTT server. Over the next few weeks I gotta get off my ass and start working on some stuff so the TTT server will live again.

Doubtful, there's still tons of hacks that it cant detect.
For example, silent aim & trigger-bot.
