News - Counter-Strike: Source Update Released Well... Valve finally did it, they updated CS:S. This is going to break the servers for today, since they moved to the orangebox engine and it breaks all the mods I have on the servers. I am working to fix this, but it will take a bit to get everything fully working. I am not home, so I don't have access to most of my files and such either. UPDATE: The Gungame server is 100% back up and running now, I had to use the Sourcemod version of Gungame, but I took the time to configure it like the old one was. Let me know if you find any bugs and I'll fix them ASAP. UPDATE: The Surf server has now been updated and is working 100% as well, please report any bugs that you see so I can fix them.
Great, I was about to post a topic about the update. The update is meh, I can't say it's really worth it.
I just put up my updated surf server, so I'll tell you what Valve fucked up right now. Firstly, Valve blacklisted Eventscripts. Second, Valve removed the ability for plugins to display text in that gray rounded box in the center of the screen. Third, I don't think sourcemod works that well, and mani admin crashes the server. Fourth, You can't see *who's* talking if they're dead and you're alive. You just hear the voice and that's it. Fifth, well, there's soo many other little problems as well. So basically, Valve fucked over the entire Counter-Strike: Source community, and destroyed everything we've accomplished in the last six years. Also, the server folder structures was altered, and everything is in the OrangeBox subfolder. So you'll have to move everything. Valve just killed their game and its community. Thanks Valve.
UPDATE: I have been working at it all day today and almost have a fully working server for gungame again! It should be done within the next few hours, just need to work out a few bugs in gameplay. Again, sorry for the downtime, but Valve pulled the update last second when I couldn't do anything.
1337Espeon: I managed to get SourceMod working on the new update, but slay does nothing (slap 100 works though), drugging does not *move* the vision, beacon effects do nothing, and burn crashes the server. Almost everything else works though. Even freezing.
They have updated SourceMod since the beta, fixed the menus, and stopped the crashing. Everything that I had issues with in the beta is working now. I'm trying to figure out how to shut VAC off, it didn't like the -insecure command line, so I need to check the docs on it. Also, you cannot change the tickrate on servers anymore, they are stuck to 66. It says right on the update news for CS:S.
I changed a few things around in the gungame server to normalize it, like how it used to be. I still have a few more things to work out like friendly fire, but here is what I've done so far. - Changed mp_chattime back to 18 (like it was in the old server so people can talk after the round is over.) - Removed WarmupTimerSound (That stupid swooshing noise when the warmup timer counts down.)
