i installed vmf loader in sourcemods and gmod 9 mods and when i started the game it wasnt there so i removed it from gmod 9 mods and i went to join a server and it was there. so i added it back and i wasn't there anymore PLZ HELP!!!!!!
vmfloader doesn't go in mods. The vmfloader_v015.rar has the right directory structure under the gmod9 directory in the rar. If you don't have a contraptions directory under your gmod9 install dir, just move the contraptions over to your gmod9 install directory. The gmod9\lua\init\vmfloader.lua file goes into your gmod9\lua\init\ The gmod9\lua\vmfloader directory goes into gmod9\lua The gmod9\settings\context_panels\vmfloader.txt goes into gmod9\settings\context_panels Is all you should have to do is have the program you use to unzip or unrar it unzip or unrar it to the directory above your gmod9 install dir. In my case its Program Files\Valve\Steam\SteamApps\SourceMods\ then when it unzips or unrars the files will go to the right place, and directories that need to be created will be. Hope this helps
Ok, The only thing that confused me was contraptions. I don't know where the installation directory is. please tell me the location of it.
The installation dir is the directory where gmod9 is installed. On my installation it is c:\Program Files\Valve\Steam\SteamApps\SourceMods\gmod9 So basically if you tell your unrar program to install it to c:\Program Files\Valve\Steam\SteamApps\SourceMods (in my case) it would install the files like they should be installed. This is the default install for newer versions of steam, so yours may be in the same place on your computer. This should work for the vmfloader_v015.rar. Not all gmod9 files are packaged that way though.
