    HEY !

Have you ever wanted to map for counter strike ?
No ? Would you like to start ?

Are you familiar with it already but just need tips or information ?
Do you WANT to know what Vbsp, Vvis & Vrad actually do and how to make them compile faster ?
Do you want to know how to optimize correctly and be a professional mapper in less than a hour ?

I CAN AND WILL provide tutoring on said subject. Hit me up on my steam (id:furcheetah) and I'd be more than happy to spend a little time with you explaining everything in great detail.

Mapping for 5 years almost, initially been taught by good mappers and the rest was self taught or discovered.

I will provide help through either Skype, Remote Desktop or Team Viewer.

Don't be shy, I'm a nice and helpful guy !

I've been mapping for a couple years myself. Do you have any advice on how to get enough motivation to actually finish a map? I've been having trouble with that a lot recently.

    The feedback, bad or good.
    And constant idea generation.
If you have a vivid imagination, there's no problem getting a map done.

It was a year and a half ago since I last made a map for CSS hosties but that's it. If I start mapping again I will make sure to contact you Furchee, as you seem to be really good at this stuff.

I will never figure out why it takes people years to be able to create "professional" maps like cs_office - I got into it and went "oh, so it's like quake 3 all over again, just with more entities and a different mapping tool" :D

Learning how to optimize maps performance-wise and shorten compile times on the other hand requires deeper knowledge on the subject, or engine D:

Furchee, i'd love to see some of your maps if you created some for any source engine game! :)

    @ ahmetalp
That would be great. I'm always here to help.

You'd be surprised when it comes to this subject.
Because a definition of a "professional" map would be for it to have good gameplay, good visuals, good performance and balance.
Of course, that being it was a map not made for mods like surfing.

As for knowledge, it's nothing I couldn't teach in less than 20 minutes.
It was hell obtaining the information. Going through countless compiles, articles, other maps and just spending tons and tons of time working out what works best and what was done wrong.

Since the Source Engine doesn't "create" shadows and leafs in real time, it's pretty much up to the mapper to know what's best for his map.

Which is why I'm here so I can explain and help those who have problems with said subject.
