I play this Gungame server pretty much every time I play counterstrike. Between the weapon ordering, maps, and the fast respawn, it's my favorite server hands down. Except for one thing, of course. Every time I've logged on recently, there's been at least one hacker there ruining things. It's really getting frustrating, I would try and keep track but as we all know, names are an easy thing to change and I'm not sure how much good it would do. Is there anything that can be done on the server end of things to remedy this? It's a shame to see IMO one of the best servers out there ruined by a bunch of idiots. Thanks for reading. -Darren
VAC also has it's downsides, because people still hack with VAC on and it's even harder to really know if they are legit or using "VAC-proof" hacks. I might just enable VAC to get people that usually use hacks in the server VAC banned and fuck them over.
Good call. I doubt the kind of crap most people are using is VAC-proof, as it's pretty obvious when someone is moving across the map at the speed of sound, or you can see them aiming in every direction at once just looking at them. It's sometimes obvious if you watch the scores on a GG server... the hackers will have upwards of 30-40 kills sometimes by the end of the game. They take a long time to get the grenade kill but still rack up tons of pistol headshot kills during that time. Thanks for responding... hoping to see the servers mostly hack free soon! -Darren
Actually Espeon CS:S admins go over the internet and find hacks for this game and remove it. I have tried Pretty much almost all the hacks Possible (Even paid for some hacks) And almost all of them where blocked by vac and vac-2 . I would preffer Bulldog-Secure Hacks for the server but it is very hard to find and it cost money. Your Choice Not mine you dont even have to vac-secure but its just so facts. - _HeadShot_
I know from firsthand experience how hacks are "VAC-proof," which are only the private hacks most people make that you have to pay for. VAC stops almost all public hacks, but it still lets hackers though
there was this thing called cheater grief and it detects hacks and harrasses the hackers by making them die instantly if they earn any damage and makes their weapons useless. But that only on TF2 :L
I've been looking into other anti-hack protections for CS:S but have come up with nothing. If anyone has any they know of, it would help a lot if you could link me to it.
Vac Yeah I think that we should use vac. We seem to have allot of people using hacked cs:s. Now I know that we would loose some people but hey you should pay to play right. Also like you said we can get them vac banned. Also we need to find someone that can write a script to keep EL CUBANO out of the server. Also make the stats so that if a person is banned they get erased from stats.
I'll turn it on few a few days to see if there are less hackers. I've been looking for someone to code a sourcemod plugin, but they are so rare. I have to look into how to do this since Psychostats is not compatable with the Sourcebans ban system.
Well thanx for the quick response. If you ever need any help with anything i will do my best to help you out. Maybe we can figure out a way to just let me go through and delete names from stats as the persons are banned. That is if you are willing to do that. I don't know one step at a time I guess.
I know im posting like 7 days late on this thread, but I personally hated having no VAC when I played while i was VAC banned for a while I was using my old banned account and eventually had to buy new junk... I used to ban atleast like 100 a day and by the looks of you ownage on SourceBANS you are doing the same. Problem with VAC is that it might take a while to make the server get somewhere. Cant wait until summer so I can finally start playing again :S I could learn to code for sourcemod while i cant play, lol, no way. Too lazy :D
admins on server Pretty late post i guess but, Ownage is now on the server for almost every day and I'm there sometimes too and then I actually used to ban like 5 or something but, I played on it yesterday, and there were no hackers. Kudos to ownage to scare them away
Turn vac back off!! for those people that have been vac and what to play on the best server around! I can watch for hackers and summit them on the forums ASAP
I've tried most of the "Anti-Cheats", but it doesn't stop people from hacking, new hacks are made and updated daily and people find ways around it. Detox is pointless too, the only good way is to use a client side detection which people would rage at.
Maybe to keep EL CUBANO out, you can probably use the sm_cexec command and unbind his keys. Then he would have to most likely have to reinstall unless he knows how to make an autoexec. These ideas maybe evil but they might keep him out.
sorry but uh if he is a hacker and knows how to use hacks i imagine hes messed with commands before and knows how to rebind his keys
The unbind_all command unbinds everything even the console and main menu if I am correct. They can only re-bind stuff if they know how to do it with configuration files.
