I think it would be a bad idea, My friend tried to jailbreak his $400 ipod touch and it crashed during syncing the app. He brought it to best buy and waited
5 weeks just to get a big dick slap in his face. and worst of all the bill was $500 :3

It's hard to brick an iPod Touch/iPhone. I jailbroke my iPod Touch and iPhone, so I could get access to the system functions, making things easier for what I do. Plus there are a ton of apps in Cydia that are really useful. So the need to jailbreak it all depends on what you intend on using it for. If your Ipod Touch has firmware version 3.1, your fucked at this point as Apple started signing the images, if it's 3.0 or under your fine.

    Yeah,

I dont think its a bad idea.. Bricking is very rare and only usualy happens if the jailbreaking program you got is bad, or you did somthing wrong during the jailbreak. Other then that, I think its only a 0.5 chance for it to happen for no reason.

But.. dont use a program called quickfreedom.. it has somthing called "libusb". Anyways, it replaces your usb drivers and normal drivers. Once it made it so i lost my internet and it wouldent reconize any usb plug in's.

I think jailbreaking is worth it because you can get any app for free and some cool features on your ipod / iphone.

PS. Mine is jailbroken and I enjoy it way better :D

Also... It made it so i cant get internet on my ipod anymore.. So make a wise decision.

I jail broke my iPhone It's not hard. I would really suggest you read up on it. I could walk you through it. The benefits of having a jailbroken/unlocked ipod/iphone is: you can put apps on it for free, ring tones and use t-mobile. There's tons of things you can do. I would say unless you have a 3g do it, no reason not to do it with Ipod touch.

I get to upgrade my phone soon and I'm wondering whether to bully O2 into giving me a cheap contract with the iphone... but then again, it's larger than my current phone and I'm probably likely to break a touch screen by dropping it >.< (clumsy lol) so its either that or the Nokia n97 that my dad is using. It looks quite nice... thing is, up until that phone, I have a deep hatred for Nokias... is the iphone really that good? that everyone here seems to own one??
