The Garry's Mod 9 Public server has been crashing like crazy since the change in hardware, I have no idea why it's doing it. It just crashes for no reason, even without serverdoc, so it must be one of the server files or something, as the Counter-Strike: Source server is running fine without crashes. I'm working to fix it and hopefully should have it running alot more stable than it was before.

    May sound silly, but...

I might just reinstall Windows Server 2003 when I get to work on Monday. I haven't found whats causing it or how to fix it, after like a day of fucking with things.

Tomorrow I will be putting in a new 120GB hard drive as the main drive in the server and keeping the 20GB in there now as a secondary. I'm setting everything up on the new hard drive so thats all I have to do is a repair install of Windows and everything will be up and running.

Thanks to my idea of installing and configuring Server 2003 in VMWare the transition was easier.

Still didn't fix the problem... I'm gonna see if I can run it in VMWare for now.

I have it down so I can move it into VMWare, as a last resort.

Tomorrow I'll try to take out the stick of 512MB I bought and see if it works, if it does then good, if not I need to get my other motherboard and processor back from Bojangles. Why the fuck does this server have to cause so much hell?

Oh, you DID put memory in it recently?
I was going to suggest checking that, especially if you bought from Newegg, but I figured it would have been on the list of things you were putting in.

Yeah, I've had issues with memory lately. Tried to buy a pair of 2-1Gb sticks from New Egg, and one out of each malfunctioned, only reporting as 512 MB. We assembled one good set from the two, stuck the two defective ones in and sent them back, then had problems with the replacement.

I don't know if that was just that brand, Newegg, or Memory in general these days. Then again, it's also possible you accidentally stuck a stick in the wrong channel.

Just out of curiosity, does a crash on one Gmod9 server crash the other? Or do they crash independently?

The second server isn't even on the same box, the second server is running on Vulpix's server, using his "Comcastic" connection. As a thought, I did happen to buy the RAM from NewEgg, so hopefully it's only a bad stick instead of a bad processor/motherboard.

The temp server that Vulpix is hosting is: 24.131.240.40:27018, for those who want the IP and such.
