Sorry if this is the wrong place to post, the map surf_greatest_river should be removed from the deathmatch server. First off it seems to be made for non dm surf servers, it turns into an aim map with too much portal camping as well as spawnkilling/camping. Secondly it's just a terrible map, the textures are placed incorrectly, there's no lighting, and the bottom of the map has a leak in it. I thought I would post and see what you all thought about it, should it stay? and why?
Yeah that map is pretty shitty and should probably be removed. I wouldn't really mind all great rivers except neroxx being removed on DM. xDream can stay on normal surf though.
I think xdream should stay on dm server, also it would be great if surf_ski_2 gets removed. There is a fixed ski_2 which can be replaced. CSSBANANA: Surf_ski_2_source (Counter-Strike: Source > Maps > Surf Style)
What exactly is the point? It just makes it so admins have to slay at the end of the round. Neroxx doesn't have that shit.
Ain't happening. One does not simply get rid of greatriver, it's one of the oldest maps around and great as well. I'd honestly feel sad about it being removed but yeah, xdream has the annoying nade round. If people are worried about campers and what not then think again.. Why do we have admins? Obviously to stop campers and etc.
It's a fun map don't get me wrong, but its not compatible with deathmatch, I can't ban the whole server when it happens, please add me and the next time we are on it on dm I will invite. It really becomes a total clusterfuck because you can shoot through the separators between spawns, and as I stated this really only refers to greatest river which has way to many issues to be a map. I would be ashamed to release a map like that.
Somehow I've almost never had problems with that map regarding the seperators between the spawn and if I did, I'd warn the players so if they get banned then it's their fault. The workaround this topic is that we could look for a better version of greatriver or have someone fix the stated issue. About campers though, not much you can do with them unless you plan to remove any flat surfaces on the map.
