Hey guys, This is probably a stupid question, seeing as literally NO-ONE seems to play Gmod9 anymore, BUUUT... Do you guys think that you could maybe fix the lag and bring the Gmod9 servers up to 9.0.4c? That's the version I have installed and it works. I like Gmod9 more than Gmod10, and I'd love to be able to play on the Role-Play server without jittering back and forth as I move about. Also, anyone interested in playing the Gmod9 RP server with me? I'd love to resurrect the old days of Gmod9
A big source engine update broke alot of sourcemods (even gmod10!) today - we just gotta way until espeon runs an update on the source engine servers
Ah, ok, cool. I love Gmod 9 (in some ways more than Gmod 10), and sometimes I play on your RP server, despite no one being there most of the time.
The only difference between versions c and b are a few fixes that have been already applied to the server a long time ago. So the server is at the latest version. I've tried to fix the lag and haven't been able to figure out why it does that, I will try to update Sourcemod and see if it helps any. This is actually a nice "feature" of the new Orangebox engine. If the server is empty for more than 6 hours, the server lags until the map is changed or restarted. I will see if I can put a script to restart it when its empty for a while. I just updated the main dedicated server files since the update last night broke the servers, so you should be able to connect to them again.
This is so true. Gmod 9 has a much better spawn menu and physics gun in my opinion, the only thing (and its quite a big thing) that is better in gmod 10 is the modding community and LUA capabilities allowing really awesome gamemodes to be made.
I have installed a plugin to fix the lag issues after the servers are empty for a while. I am still trying to fix the lag that happens when people join, it seems to be something with Sourcemod, but I can't track down where exactly this happens at the moment.
